Hello, you probably don’t remember me. My name is Caroline Archer. My father was John Archer who taught typography at the Department of Printing at Watford College of Technology. My father and yours were friends and colleagues, both having served in the RAF in Egypt in signals, and both ending up in Watford. When my father married my mother in 1951/2, your father gave them a painting for their wedding present. Going through some long forgotten boxes of my parents, I have just discovered two black and white line drawings of Porthleven, signed by your father and dedicated to mine. This was very coincidental, as I have just moved to Cornwall with my husband, and the day before we discovered the images, we had paid our first visit to Porthleven. I would be happy to send you photographs of the images if you would like?
