Programmes and woodcuts

Dad always did a personal Christmas card which he printed by the batch on an enormous (I was quite young at the time) floor standing, hand fed printer that was given to Bushey Hall School when the print at Odhams was mechanised.  The design was always a woodcutting and I remember being allowed to help set the type from enormous trays of letters and spacers in a huge cabinet.  We were even allowed the odd go at feeding paper and retrieving printed cards…..happy days!
